MY APPROACH TO THERAPY
I believe change happens not only as we have new insights into ourselves, but as those insights are connected to a new relational experience in the present moment, like the one created between us in therapy. My therapeutic technique is grounded in a mixture of psychodynamic and neuropsychological perspectives; this framework explores how your biology and early attachment structures, as well as your individual mind and emotions, have deeply impacted the way you experience yourself and others. This means that when one part of you begins to suffer, all the other parts are affected as well. Therefore, in order to locate the root of your problem(s) and to better understand the reasons that bring you to seek therapy, we must look at your whole self: body, thoughts, and emotions.
My technique focuses on exploring your problem, addressing the complexities that problem presents for you, and working towards locating its source and solution. We will take insight gained about your past and apply it to the present with the mutual goal of restoring hope and bringing a sense of wholeness, compassion, and freedom in your life. We will do so through collaboration and conversation, as well as other tools that are deemed necessary or helpful to you.
